Our Garment Competition Judge: Collin Charity
This year’s judge Collin Charity taught herself to crochet at age 11 — starting with the usual scarf, afghan, etc, using only acrylic yarn, eventually making lace with cotton thread. She taught herself to knit in her 40s and this new addiction led her to trying to learn every knitting technique out there. Collin is knowledgeable in Fair Isle, lace, mosaic, sock and garment knitting, cables, steeking and finishing techniques. Learning to work with a variety of natural and man-made fibers and yarns has opened endless creative possibilities while learning other crafts (spinning, weaving, etc). Collin has earned many awards for her knitting, crochet and spinning over the years, and we're delighting she'll be lending her knowledge and talent to the 2024 Show!
